Bille

Bille is a new, youthful ensemble featuring the melodious voices of young women and the sounds  of folk reveries accompanied by the kokle, violins, drum and other folk music instruments. Sisters  Katrīna and Anna Patrīcija Karele grew up in the well-known children’s folklore group Tarkšķi from  Iecava, while Liene Skrebinska comes from the group Vīteri in Rēzekne but is currently continuing her education in traditional music as well as singing and playing the kokle in various ensembles, including the international quartet The Baltic Sisters. 

With their debut mini-album Visu gadu dziesmas krāju (2024), these experienced musicians  have presented themselves as a new trio on the Latvian folklore scene. The acoustic  compositions, in which multipart singing alternates with instrumental parts, follow the theme of  the four seasons.
