Grēcīgie Partizāni

Grēcīgie Partizāni (Sinful Partisans) is a radical folk ensemble. Balancing between traditional music and punk rock, the band explores the shadow-self, fear and injustice, cultivating a spirit of freedom and independence. Their music is witty and provocative, often addressing social and political issues.

The band members first met in 2021. Since then, they have released two albums: Noziegums un gods (Crime and Honour) (2021) and Ēnas trokšņo (Shadows Disturb) (2024). The band actively embraces DIY culture and lifestyle—they have built their own washboard, print their merchandise using screen-printing techniques, and create their own music videos and tour recaps. On tours they often travel by bicycle or by hitchhiking, demonstrating an independent and self-sufficient spirit.

The songs Lielās cerības, Daugavā and Ļaunums, have been included in alternative music compilations Odekolons and Latvian Punk/HC #8, as well as folk music compilations Native Music 19 and 20.

The band has performed at festivals such as Laba Daba, Tallinn Colors, Valpurģi, Veidenfests, Zilonis, Ķeižfests, Zemlika, AUGam, Kartupeļpalma, Riga venues such as Aleponija, Depo, Noass, Pils, 1983, Lastādijas kvartāls, Hanzas perons, as well as in a moving bus, as part of the unveiling of RakstuRīga mural.

They have also performed at cultural venues outside Riga, such as Kurte (Talsi), Valhalla Lounge (Sigulda), MALA Art Space (Cēsis), Wiktorija Culture House (Liepāja), Viedrades Quarter (Smiltene), UPĪTE Cultural center (Upīte), and Līpuoja (Rēzekne), and also abroad — in SC Emma (Kaunas), XI20 (Vilnius), Fenix (Alytus), Ulase12 (Tallinn) and Hell (Tartu). 

The core lineup of the ensemble consists of Kārlis Pūķis (guitar, vocals), Anete Dance (washboard, vocals), Arno Titovs (violin, harmonica, vocals), and Nauris Gailītis (banjo, backing vocals).
