Kaligo

Kaligo is a Latvian post-folk band founded in 2024. Its music is based on Latvian folk songs but is  supplemented with original songs and influences from world music, resulting in a free fusion of  genres from folklore to rock, pop music and psychedelic elements. The name Kaligo, which  means ‘dark fog’ in Latin, accurately describes the group’s atmospheric and moody sound. Kaligo’s debut album, titled Pirmais pērkons (First Thunder), was released in 2024 and includes five  arrangements of folk songs and seven original compositions with folk lyrics. 

The musicians are united by their interest in unusual sounds and cite the atmospheric  world music band Heilung as one of their inspirations. At live concerts, Kaligo captivate audiences  with their drive, mood and emotional power.
