Andris Ābelīte

Member of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra since 1996; he plays the Principal Trumpet since 1998. Began to play the trumpet at the age of 12. In 1992 he graduated from the Jaz. Medins Music High School, and he graduated from the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music with a bachelor’s degree in 1996 and a master’s degree in 1998. A. Ābelīte has attended master classes with Prof. K. Konsbruck in Luxembourg and with Prof. A. N. Nilsen in Norway. For several years he has been a member of the Liepaja’s Symphony Orchestra, collaborating also with the Riga Brass Quintet. He has participated in a number of significant jazz projects. At present Mr. Ābelīte is also studying voice at the Latvian Academy of Music.
