Arvydas Kazlauskas

Born in Vilnius, Lithuania where he received his basic musical education. He has successfully participated in a number of competitions in Lithuania. In 2002 he started studying at the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music with Artis Simanis as his saxophone class Professor. In 2005 he was awarded the Bachelor's degree and in 2007 Master's degree. In 2003 he also refined his playing with Professor J. Ernst at the Berlin Art University.

Arvydas is a laureate of a number of international competitions /Grand Prix in J. Jurjans 3rd International Wind Instrument Competition in Riga (2005);
1st prize winner at Hillar Kareva International Saxophonist competition in Tallinn (2003);
2nd prize winner at the 3rd International Saxophonists Competition „Alps-Adria- Danube” in Nova Goricia, Slovenia (2005)/. In 2006 Arvydas together with the piano player Reinis Zarins received the 1st prize at the Competition of Chamber Ensembles organized by the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music. Arvydas also won the YAMAHA scholarship when participating at the Woodwind Competition organized by the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music.

Arvydas has taken master classes with Claude Delange, Daniel Gauthier, Arno Bornkamp, Vincent David and Joel Versavaud.

As a soloist A.Kazlauskas has performed with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Latvian State chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Riga, professional Woodwind Orchestra Riga, Orchestra Sinfonia Concertante
and Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.

Arvydas Kazlauskas also teaches saxophone at Jazeps Medins Riga Music School and Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre..
