Christopher Walsh Sinka

The American conductor Christopher Walsh Sinka is the founder and artistic director of the Riga Project Choir. Through his work with the Riga Project Choir, Christopher has led performances of significant choral works including Bruckner’s Mass in E Minor, MacMillan’s Cantos Sagrados, Kile Smith’s The Arc in the Sky, Benedict Sheehan’s Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and Pēteris Plakidis’ choral symphony Nolemtība. In 2024, Christopher made his debut with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, leading them together with the Riga Project Choir in the world premiere of Laura Jēkabsone’s Folk Passion. Christopher earned a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Henry and Leigh Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, where he studied with Donald Nally. Christopher has been a member of the Latvian Radio Choir since 2022; he has lived and worked in Latvia since 2015.
