The Principal Cellist of the LNSO. Born in Riga in, graduated from the E. Darzins Music School in 1977 and from the Latvian Academy of music in 1982, having studied cello with prof. E.Testeļeca. From 1983 to 1986 she was an assistant at the P. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. She has participated in several international competitions in Latvia, Russia, and Italy. For many years D. Ozoliņa is a cellist of the Latvian National symphony orchestra, has been an Assistant Principal of Cello group, but since January 2004 she is the Principal Cellist of the LNSO. She has also played with the chamber orchestra "Riga Chamber Players" since 1990.
