Played the Clarinet in the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra since 1973 and was the Principal Clarinet. Studied the clarinet play in Jelgava’s Music High School with Julijs Grutups and in the J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music with Prof. Eduards Mednis, graduated from his class in 1970. From 1970 to 1973 he perfected his artistry in the postgraduate programme of the Moscow State Conservatory. Ģ. Pāže has appeared as a guest soloist in many music festivals, including Warsaw Autumn, festivals in Moscow, Tomsk and Tashkent. He has been the member of the woodwind quintet of the Latvian National Symphony orchestra for many years. In 1993, together with like-minded fellows he founded the Association of Latvian Clarinet Players. Ģ. Pāže dedicated a lot of time and work to teaching the young generation of Latvian clarinet players. He was a Professor in J. Vitols Latvian Academy of Music since 1995.
