Imants Sneibis is one of the leading Latvian flutists and flute performance teachers – he is considered one of the founders of Latvian flute performance school. He has an extremely wide repertoire and his creative activities encompass performances solo, together with various musicians and ensembles. Since 1980 Imants Sneibis teaches at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, in 1998 he became an Associated Professor of JVLMA. He also teaches at Emīls Dārziņš Secondary Music School. He has been a member of Latvian National Opera Orchestra for more than 30 years.

Students of Imants Sneibis often perform in public, most of them are members of various orchestras, some of his students continue their professor’s work and achieve excellent results – amongst them are Dita Krenberga, Ilze Urbāne, Ilona Kudiņa, Andis Klučnieks, Guna Paula, Ieva Rūtentāle, Alise Klimanska and many others.
