Besides being an esteemed jazz vocalist, Inga Bērziņa is also a well-respected teacher of up-coming singers at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Riga Cathedral Choir School. She graduated from the jazz department at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow in 1991 and holds a PhD in music education from the University of Latvia. She has also broadened her experience by studying with Janet Lawson at the School of Jazz at the New School in New York.

Bērziņa began her career as a jazz singer more than twenty years ago in the Ilga Bērziņa Jazz Trio and went on to collaborate with a variety of jazz and popular music groups. She has regularly performed with renowned Latvian jazz musicians such as Deniss Pashkevich, Madars Kalniņš and Kaspars Grigalis as well as the Orchestra RIGA, the Jelgava Big Band and the Mirage Jazz Orchestra. She has given solo concerts in the Baltic states, Finland, Norway, Poland, Germany, Austria, Spain and the United States.
