Each work, dedicated to the Antra and Normunds Vīksne piano duo, is based on a haiku by Japanese poets.
1. Bell in the Mist (1999) The calling bell travels the curling mist – ways... autumn morning. (Matsuo Bashō, 1644-1694)
2. Song of the Goddess (2000) At last, when her song is still, The goddess becomes a small, green bird. (Ueshima Onitsura, 1661-1738)
3. Still – White Snow (2007) From my tiny roof smooth... soft... Still - white snow melts in melody. (Kobayashi Issa, 1763-1827)
