Agita Ikauniece

AGITA IKAUNIECE was graduated from the Latvian Academy of Music in 1996 as a professional conductor and music educator. In 2001 she received a Master of Arts Management degree at the Latvian Academy of Culture. Agita conducts Youth choir BALSIS and Youth choir TIADE and also works as project manager for the Latvian National Song Festival (2003). Agita has conducted choral singing seminars in the USA for the New York Latvian Concert Choir (2000). She has participated in the organization of the Latvian National Song Festivals (1998, 2001) and also the European Conference for Music Education in Rīga (2001), attended by representatives of many European countries. Agita was chief conductor of the Latvian National Song Festival (2003) with 20 000 singers.
