One of the most important modern music events of this season will take place in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy and Riga Art Space from March 9th to 14th.
This year's festival will feature several artists from the USA. A real-time notation composer and performer Seth Shafer from Omaha University in Nebraska will be joined by two performers from CalArts - phenomenal and fearless pianist Vicky Ray and extravagant experimental vocalist Carmina Escobar.
One of the highlights of the event will also be a performance of Luciano Berio's "A-Rone" by Latvian Radio Choir. Compositions for electronics and string orchestra by Dmitris Maronidas and Gundega Šmite will be performed by Sinfonia Concertante chamber orchestra lead by clarinetist and conductor Guntis Kuzma.
The festival will open with performances by prizewinners of the Young Performers Competition "Skat(!)logs". The ethno-jazz performance and dance party is also not to be missed!
