Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLMA) and the Latvian Radio Big Band (LRBB) invite young composers to submit works for the Big Band Composition Contest.
As part of the competition, young composers have to create pieces for a big band composition and female vocals - soloist Aija Vītoliņa. The deadline for submitting works is June 30.
This year, the competition has significantly expanded its geographical boundaries. Young composers not only from the Baltic countries, but also from Norway and Sweden, who permanently live or study in one of these countries - senior students of music high schools and colleges, students of music universities and young professionals aged 18 to 30 (who have not exceeded 30 years of age by June 30 of this year) are invited.
