Rahu - "Zīle"
Rahu (previously Rahu the Fool) is a Latvian band playing music that you, your grandfather, your mother, and your grandson will all love. The band plays original compositions and arrangements, melding the musical traditions of various nations into a unique sound. Rahu stands out with its creativity and skill in interpreting traditional music, expressing itself musically on instruments and singing in harmony. The group members play a wide range of stringed instruments, which gives their music a multilayered and rich texture. Rahu's music is often lively and rhythmic, inviting audiences to dance and rejoice. It’s suited for all who appreciate the beauty of traditional music and its creative interpretation in an acoustic sound.
The song “Zīle” (The tit bird) is based on a wedding song. In Latvian folklore, the tit is often the messenger of a marriage, bringing news of happiness and love through its song. A tit singing near a home is considered a sign that there will soon be a marriage or a new relationship. Rahu is currently working on its second album.
